I have been looking all over for this masterpiece of Painters as it's my favorite & I finally unearthed it
Come hither, come hither, and sit for a spell We have stories of murder and malice to tell It is All Hallows' Eve and the Tower is bare We bid you to enter! Come in if you dare!
What is that? It's a spook! No, it double I see! There are two of them scaring the wits out of me! Why, it's Ritchie and Eddie, the heirs to the throne They were murdered in bed, not a soul heard 'em moan!
Who dunnit? King Richard? Some say it was so Some think it was Margaret, but none of us know Poor lads roam the halls of the Tower at night Bemoaning the state of their miserable plight
But listen! There's more! Can you hear a lass cry? Why, it's Lady Jane Grey! She was too young to die! It was off with her head when they made her a queen, Beheaded not long after turning sixteen
Poor Jane met the axe after only nine days And Mary took over with bloodiest ways She burned all her enemies! Fried 'em like eggs! And tied 'em up tight with a rope on their legs
But Jane's not the only poor queen with no head Don't forget Anne Boleyn with a daughter instead Her hubby decided he wanted a son So he cut off her head when she didn't have one
Then later when Henry was old and quite worn He married Cate Howard, a rose without thorn But he got himself pricked and cut off her head When the rose and her lover were found in a bed
This is only the teaser! The Tower has more! It's inviting you in, so just open the door.... Take a very deep breath, there are no guarantees That you'll come out alive, so come in, if you please....
